• This part is voluntary. At the beginning of the semester I posted a survey conducted by Sophie Towle, a PhD student at the University of New Hampshire, on students’ perception of mathematics. The goal of her project is to see if abstract algebra courses change this perception. To measure this, please complete the second part of the survey linked below. It should take about 10 minutes. I will appreciate your help with this.

• Homework solutions need to be submitted though UBLearns.

Note.

• Homework should be submitted as a single pdf file. If you are submitting hand-written solutions, you can scan them to pdf using e.g. Notes app on iPhone or Google Drive app on Android phones. Solution of each problems should start on a new page.
• I will add 20% extra points to your homework score for homework solutions typeset using LaTeX. A zip file with LaTeX homework template is available here, but you are not required to use it to get the extra credit.
